About This Piece

Vintage Design

Charming small Art Nouveau style screen with a solid walnut moulded frame. Each of the four leaves has a small rectangular panel at the bottom.
These four elements are hinged on original brass hinges.
The interiors are covered with painted silk depicting birds in different landscapes. In each scene we find parakeets, swans and chickadees, surrounded by flowers.
The pastel tones of this unique little screen are a perfect match for the softness of the landscape. The bucolic scenes are refined and undeniably poetic.

Wooden frame in excellent condition after restoration in our workshop. Waxed finish.
Painted silk in used condition.
