About This Piece

Vintage Design

Pair of solid wood armchairs designed by Henry Jacques Le Même for a chalet in Megève around 1950. Their openwork frame, flat armrests, and angled legs exemplify the architect's pursuit of functional, sturdy, and harmonious furniture, characteristic of the Alpine modernism he developed.

The seat cushions are upholstered in Othello red velvet from Nobilis, adding a warm and refined touch. These armchairs demonstrate Le Même's desire to combine woodworking craftsmanship with architectural elegance, in a humanist and minimalist approach to mountain furniture.
