About This Piece

Vintage Design

1970s Italian Lounge Chair with Bentwood Frame and New Bouclé Upholstery. A refined example of 1970s Italian design, this lounge chair features a sculptural bentwood frame paired with new ivory bouclé upholstery. Five identical chairs are available, allowing them to be used individually or arranged as a modular sofa. The chair’s silhouette is defined by its curved bentwood shell, wrapping smoothly around the back and sides. The dark wood finish contrasts elegantly with the light, textured bouclé, creating a piece that is both functional and visually striking. The proportions are generous yet balanced, offering comfort without bulk. Each chair has been professionally reupholstered. The seat and back cushions are thick and supportive, with a low, lounge-style seat that encourages relaxation. The clean lines and flowing contours reflect the era’s interest in organic modernism and material contrast. with five pieces available, the configuration is flexible. Use one as a standalone lounge chair, a pair as reading chairs, or all five together to create a long, sculptural seating arrangement. The consistent form makes them ideal for modular living spaces or open interiors. Dimensions (each): Depth: 90 cm (35.4 in) Width: 70 cm (27.6 in) Height: 80 cm (31.5 in) Seat Height: 45 cm (17.7 in) Condition: The bentwood frames show minor wear consistent with age.
