Arcs, Cogs, & Plums

Some exciting news: in little over a week, Tom Dixon will be launching his new accessories range at Maison et Objet.

Tom Dixon - Plum - Cocktail shaker - L’ArcoBaleno blog “Plum” cocktail shaker.

Drawing inspiration from areas such as engineering, physics, or nature, the collection consists of 50 pieces, each designed in London and made from natural and semi-precious materials. I’m always so impressed with Tom’s work that I really can’t wait to see the whole collection! Here’s a small sampling:

Tom Dixon - Plum - Barware - L’ArcoBaleno blog “Plum” is a set of barware including all the bells and whistles such as a futuristic-looking copper-plated cocktail shaker and fancy swizzle sticks.

Tom Dixon - Plum - Ice bucket - L’ArcoBaleno blog “Plum” ice bucket.

Tom Dixon - Scent - Candle - Air - L’ArcoBaleno blog “Scent” is a collection of four scents—Fire, Air, Earth, and Water; a celebration of the bare essentials.

Tom Dixon - Scent - Candle - Water - L’ArcoBaleno blog The “Scent” candles take inspiration from medieval alchemy and eastern philosophy’s quest to reduce all matter to four simple elements.

Tom Dixon - Cog - L’ArcoBaleno blog “Cog” includes candle holders, containers, and a candelabrum all made from brass plated solid aluminum, with each piece referencing precision manufacturing and in particular British engineering.

Tom Dixon - Cog - Candle sticks - L’ArcoBaleno blog “Cog” candle holders.

Tom Dixon - Cog - Candelabra - L’ArcoBaleno blog “Cog” candelabra. Just beautiful, and quite possibly my favorite pieces from this new range.

Tom Dixon - Arc - L’ArcoBaleno blog Each piece in the “Arc” collection is made through a sand-casting process making each solid brass trivet, bottle opener, and cork screw unique.
