Vintage Design

The iconic Miura high stool by Konstantin Grcic is part of the permanent collection of the MoMA museum in New York. Awarded multiple times, its dynamic structure combining design and ergonomics offers great seating comfort. Lightweight and stackable, thanks to the protective pads under the seat. Made by Plank from injection-molded and reinforced polypropylene (2.5 times stronger than aluminum), it is suitable for both indoors and outdoors. Used product in excellent condition.

About the Creator

Konstantin Grcic

Born in Munich in 1965, Konstantin Grcic was trained as a cabinetmaker at The John Makepeace School in Dorset, England, before studying design at the Royal College of Art in London. After graduating in 1990, he worked for a year in Jasper Morrison’s studio and then returned to Munich to open his own practice.

Since 1991, Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design (KGID) has developed numerous highly acclaimed furniture and lighting products for some of the world’s leading design brands, including Vitra, Magis, Plank, Established & Sons, Muji, Flos, Classicon, and Moroso. Grcic also periodically produces limited editions and special projects, especially in collaboration with Galerie Kreo in Paris.

Grcic defines function in human terms, combining formal strictness with mental acuity and humor. Known for pared-down aesthetics, Grcic is often called a minimalist but the designer himself prefers to speak of simplicity.
