Vintage Design

Elegant Davenport secretaire in burr walnut, built in England in the first half of the 19th century
The right side is equipped with 4 drawers, while on the left the drawers are fake
The table top has a non-coeval burgundy leather covering. Opening it, the internal compartment is equipped with 3 drawers and 3 compartments, all covered in maple
In the upper part there is a compartment, the purpose of which was to contain writing instruments (pens, ink...). Above this compartment, the secretaire is decorated with a carved wooden railing, resting on the shelf (without being fixed), using small iron pins that fit into
Our intervention consisted of cleaning and polishing for conservation purposes and the replacement of 4 drawer knobs which were damaged beyond repair
Overall the secretaire is in excellent condition, with normal signs of age and use
