Ceramiche Lega

Italy

The history of Ceramiche Lega began in 1950 when Leandro Lega gave life to the well-known artistic signature. Since 1975 Carla Lega has been carrying on her father's work, starting to model and decorate ceramic objects. She inserts herself, thanks to her skillful dexterity, in the tradition of Faenza, but with a modern and autonomous language, enlivened by the use of lustre reduction. Carla Lega continues above all the research of new forms, passing through the lightness: her famous creations are thin slabs of clay modeled by hand "cartoccio" or forms obtained with particular decorations with metallic and iridescent enamels. Lega's signature represents the Italian identity and is a symbol of manual ability and exclusivity. Each work is in fact handmade in the historic laboratory, where skillful craftsmanship gives life to unique and exclusive objects. Today the family tradition is carried on by Martina, who collaborates fully with her mother Carla Lega. Born under the Lega signature, Martina experiments with new techniques and continues to keep up the value of the workshop.
