About This Piece

Vintage Design

The "Cansado" bench, designed by Charlotte Perriand, is a true collector's item. Created for the company "MIFERMA," it furnished the apartments of the company's executives.

Its resolutely modern design makes it an essential and easy-to-place piece in any interior. The frame and legs are made of black lacquered steel, topped with 13 mahogany slats.

The cushions are upholstered in Anthracite wool fabric by Nobilis.

Provenance: Executive housing in the Cansado mining town, Mauritania, built in the 1960s by the Mauritanian Iron Mining Company "MIFERMA" to house its staff. Some of the furniture was designed by Charlotte Perriand between 1959 and 1967.
