About This Piece

Vintage Design

A beautiful 1970s hand-knotted macrame pendant lamp with a sculptural, rounded shade made from natural jute or hemp rope. The piece has a wonderfully organic presence, combining rich texture, handcrafted detail and warm atmospheric light.

The shade is elaborately worked with open geometric knotting, raised decorative knots and a beautifully rounded silhouette. When illuminated, the open macrame structure creates a soft golden glow and delicate shadow play on the surrounding walls, making it especially attractive for interiors with a Bohemian, Organic Modern, Coastal, Mediterranean or 1970s design aesthetic. The entire suspension, including the ceiling canopy and cord cover, is also wrapped in matching knotted fiber, giving the lamp a very complete and decorative appearance. Its generous diameter of approx. 40 cm gives it strong visual presence while the lightweight construction makes it easy to place over a dining table, in a bedroom, sunroom, entryway or relaxed living space. The lamp is in very good vintage condition with minor age-appropriate signs of use and natural irregularities to the fiber, consistent with handcrafted work and age. The electrical components should be checked and adapted by a qualified electrician according to local requirements before installation.

Dimensions: Height of shade: 31 cm Total height with cord: 66 cm Diameter: approx. 40 cm Weight: approx. 1.1 kg
