Rebecca Uth

Faldsled, Denmark

Born in 1969, Danish designer Rebecca Uth graduated as an industrial designer from the Danish Design School in 2000. Uth has worked with numerous brands, including a stint in Hanoi, Vietnam from 2005 to 2008 as the design manager for Swedish company UMA and as Director of Design for renowned Danish homewares, jewellery, and design brand Georg Jensen from 2008 to 2013.

In 2013, Uth established the design studio Ro —a Danish word that evokes serenity, calmness, and peace of mind— in the small town of Faldsled on the island of Funen, Denmark. The studio’s ethos is centred around a love of quality craftsmanship and the brand’s mission is to design pieces that embody tranquility; an antidote to the fast-paced, frenetic 21st century world. In her ongoing role as Creative Director for Ro, Uth works with selected designers to curate and shape a holistic collection of elegant homewares, kitchenware, and art objects, as well as contributing her own designs to the brand. Both her design and curatorial practices are primarily focused on the artistic process and objects that become more beautiful with time.
