JÖRG SCHELLMANN

In 2008, having started producing artists´ furniture within Schellmann Art, Jörg Schellmann began to design his own furniture pieces. As micro-architectural objects, Jörg Schellmann´s furniture reflects the characteristics of minimal and conceptual art, both of which have shaped his artistic development. At the same time, his repertoire of shapes and forms is guided by the principals of industrial and commercial objects. Schellmann´s pieces aim at utmost simplicity whilst exposing their construction features. The goal of Jörg Schellmann´s designs is sculptural beauty that incorporates a reminiscence of archetypes, whilst understanding functionality as a matter of course. Since 2013, Schellmann´s designs are being produced and distributed by established furniture companies in Italy (Moroso) and Germany (e15 and KIND).
