Design expert Hans-Peter Jochum launched his gallery—originally called Galerie Hans-Peter Jochum—in Berlin in 1981. The long-respected gallery specializes in international historical objects of the 20th century as well as contemporary designers, with a main focus on Italian modern design. The gallery organizes exhibitions about four times a year.
This Berlin staple has had a few locations over the past 30 years. In January 2014, it combined two pre-existing spaces into another, larger one in the Charlottenburg neighborhood, and changed its name to Jochum Rodgers. The gallery's collection includes work by the likes of modern masters Franco Albini, Osvaldo Borsani, Carlo De Carli , Gianfranco Frattini, Finn Juhl, Luisa and Ico Parisi, Gio Ponti, Gino Sarfatti, Ettore Sottsass, Guglielmo Ulrich , and Hans Wegner, among others. Jochum Rodgers also presents work by contemporary artists and designers such as Angela Mewes, Berta Fischer, Clemens Tissi, Tina Roeder, and Sven Temper.
