Vintage Design

The "Pusteblume" is a well-known East German crystal lamp that was produced in the GDR, in particular by the company VEB Kristalleuchte in Ebersbach. The design was inspired by natural forms, in particular the filigree seed heads of the dandelion flower, hence the name "Pusteblume".

Typical of this luminaire are the numerous crystal flowers that hang from thin brass rods and scatter the light when switched on. The result is an elegant, sparkling play of light that bathes the room in a pleasant atmosphere. The crystals are clear, while the shapes are delicate and filigree.

In the GDR, the "Pusteblume" was a popular light source in living rooms and bathrooms and was appreciated for its high-quality workmanship and visual effect. High-quality materials and precise workmanship made it a sought-after collector's item. Today, the "Pusteblume" is regarded as a style-defining East German design object and is highly prized by collectors of East German design classics.

Each "Pusteblume" is a small work of art that reflects the design philosophy of the GDR - functionality, aesthetics and attention to detail.
